Web-Savvy Graphic Designer (contract)

Hatebase is seeking an experienced, creative, web-savvy graphic designer with experience creating scalable desktop and mobile UI, and an interest in using visual communication (e.g. iconography, illustration, process flows) to communicate nuanced concepts across a multilingual environment.


Must Haves

  • Solid portfolio of design for data-rich web interfaces: no blocky table layouts or digitized brochureware or Flash animations
    • Experience conceptualizing and designing infographics and other types of data visualization
  • Strong familiarity with principles of user-centric design, particularly for web and mobile
  • Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop

Nice to Haves

  • Comparable abilities in print design
  • Proficiency with conceptual design, including information architecture and wireframing
  • Experience with Pikto, Prezi, Cacoo and other online visualization tools

Critical soft skills

  • Collaborative (both with strategy and with code)
  • Hyper-responsive (email, Slack, phone)
  • Articulate communicator (able to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders)
